Born in the high-altitude fortress city of Gardez, Afghanistan, and raised across a tapestry of cultures—from the Middle East and Europe to Africa and America—, our Principal Consultant, Etienne Kröger, brings a unique depth of expertise and imagination to leaders, foreseeing global risks and opportunities others miss.

Lego Mindstorms – Internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n) in collaboration with the Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute.
Workday Financials – Global, large-scale, integration-heavy Workday migration involving ERPs, banks, taxes, and 100s of partners.
Welocalize Falcon-Pantheon-OPAL – Invented, architected and scaled one of the top globalization platforms through four distinct tech generations.
TMX Standard – Co-authored the industry-wide standard for Translation Memory eXchange.

Thesis: Nationalism, Ethnicity, and Religion in Modern Afghanistan. (1994, had focused on gray areas,with limited central government and visibilty, and related deep and surface currents, "forces profondes" per Pierre Renouvin, and the role of symbols in shaping meaning, semiosis, and identity.)

Very grateful to Professor Cynthia Lichtenstein, who "brought wisdom and joy to BC Law", encouraged me, xeroxed my essays to share, and made me look at International Law from a different perspective too.

Just trying to improve my English, and ended up with the greatest gifts of them all: Jack, Nicolas and Julian, who amaze me to this day.

STEM in French. Full French and German curricula otherwise.

Internship at CERN, throwing electrons at silica. I missed humans, and shifted away from a heavy math focus.

Mom made me do Latin and Catéchisme, but got to meet, in persona, HHDL (aka the Dalai Lama) and learn about a lot of faiths. Grateful to this day.
